I grew up meandering through all the corners of Flushing. From following my mom as a child through the aisles of Assi Plaza to spending the late hours at karaokes and pochas, each memory evokes nostalgia and a feeling of home. This project is dedicated to all the moms and pops who fed me, cut my hair, and sacrificed everything for the next generation of Korean Americans." - Janice Chung Janice Chung is a Korean American photographer born and raised in New York City. Through her work, Chung amplifies and deconstructs her Korean American identity by capturing moments that are deeply personal. In doing so, she hopes to shed light on the intricate details of immigrant and diasporic life while straddling the two places she calls home, New York and Korea. Chung earned her B.F.A. in photography at the School of Visual Arts and is currently based in Queens, New York.Artist Talk at 7:30 PM: MC/moderator: Jaeki ChoPanelists: Janice Chung - artist; Peter Song (Jr) - Shoe Village; Kay Quan (Jing Lan) - Northern Wang Mandoo; Ikhwan Rim - Rim’s Jeweler
